the staff in realizing the diagnostic study, allowing\nthem to take possession of the process right from the start bearing in mind\nthat they will subsequently ensure its practical implementation and monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least one person among the staff must receive \u201cClean Harbours\u201d training&nbsp;in order for him to act as a key point for his colleagues, teaching them good habits and encouraging them to get training in their turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The professional development\nof marina managers and their staff is carried out by specific environmental training\nand Harbours approach is achieved in 2 ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Visually<\/strong>: The specific Clean Harbours Guidelines signage ensures the continuous giving of environmental messages ,thanks to the graphical interaction between colour, pictograms and typographies.&nbsp;Other visual supports help spread the message, social networks, videos, educational films, posters, websites\u2026.).<\/li><li><strong>Orally<\/strong>: The marina staff encourage boaters to behave in the best possible way. autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption><br> An educational film entilled \u00ab&nbsp;How to use the Clean zone&nbsp;?&nbsp;\u00bb <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">COMMUNICATION ACTIONS<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Port managers do not only have to raise their staff\u2019s and boaters\u2019 awareness of the Clean Harbours approach, they also have to communicate on many other different levels: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They have to demonstrate the benefits generated by the Clean Harbours strategy, which is an advantage to everyone.<\/li><li>They have to involve indispensable partners: <ul><li>yachting professionals,<\/li><li>maritime shipping companies,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>professional and recreational fishermen,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>boat rent and charter companies,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>professional operators within the port area and producers of waste (restaurants, bars, grocery stores, food caterers\u2026),<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>neighbouring towns and villages, potential port users or located in the vicinity of the port basin.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>locally elected officials and in particular, those in charge of the coastal water environment, beaches and the quality of bathing waters.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This phase of communication can be performed during port visits that the port managers will organize, promoting Clean Harbours facilities.
